Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much are dues? Joining Theta Omicron Theta is one of the cheapest social activities you can do in the Triangle- dues are only $30 per year, and FREE for recent grads! Dues are used to pay for event mailings, to support AXO National Foundation, and to support our local collegiate chapters.

2. Do I have to pay dues to be involved? You do not have to pay dues when you come to your first event; we want you to feel free to come and check us out. After that, we are able to collect dues throughout the year at any event, so feel free to bring a check or cash if you are new to the chapter!

3. Are events mandatory? No! We do ask that you RSVP if you want to attend an event, but NOTHING is mandatory. Alumnae chapters are all about fun, not strict time commitment.

4. What is the age range within the chapter? We have alumnae of all ages, from recent graduates to 75-year members. We strive to provide programming that appeals to every member.

5. How do you make events in the “Triangle” convenient to everyone? We have members from all over the triangle including Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Durham, North Raleigh, Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, and even surrounding areas such as Pittsboro and Fayetteville!! We work hard to vary our event locations to make them convenient for everyone.

6. Why should I join Theta Omicron Theta? For the chance to interact with and support the Alpha Chi chapters at UNC-CH and Elon, for great networking opportunities, for meeting new friends, and for the chance to get involved in your community through our philanthropic events.

7. I have a great event idea/philanthropy event for the chapter…what do I do? We are always looking for new events to mention to the chapter! Just e-mail us and we can discuss it at our next event.

8. Should I come to a TOT event if I don’t know anyone who is attending? Absolutely! One of the biggest reasons to attend our events is to network and make new friends!

9. How do I join? Visit our Become a Member page for more details. Check out our Calendar of Events (link) for details on our next event. You can always e-mail us with more questions.

10. Do we do events with Collegians? We are involved at UNC-CH and Elon. We conduct Hall of Commitment for these chapters each year in addition to participating in Networking Night, a new event being held at UNC-CH. In the past, our members have served as a source of advisors for specific Executive Council officers within their chapters.

11. What Philanthropic activities do you do? You can visit our Philanthropy page for more details. In summary, we support Interact of Wake County, Family Violence Prevention Center of Orange County, and financially support the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.

12. How do I get involved with National Panhellenic Conference? Theta Omicron Theta is a member of Triangle Alumnae Panhellenic Conference. As a chapter, we actively participate in their events and we have an elected representative that attends their meetings. You can learn more about Triangle Alumnae Panhellenic by visiting their website.
